We had a vision to grow the business into a national operation, to be bigger than our current skill set, thinking and financial restraints. We didn’t know what we didn’t know as it turned out!
Luckily we had the foresight to bring Greg Gunther as an independent director, shareholder and employee of Fitzpatricks Financial Group to help us realise our vision.
The business under Greg’s guidance went from two partners making decisions on the run to a functional business, governed by a board with independent representation.
Greg, as unconscionable big brother, took us through a process of setting up the Board for Fitzpatricks, along with our yearly calendar, governance framework, decision making process, accountability and roles and responsibilities. In the early days he hounded us to get us functioning and to be accountable to the business and all stakeholders.
Three years later, our business has grown considerably. We are clear on our vision, our governance is robust, financials outstanding and we have attracted quality outstanding industry leaders to our business. This in particular we never thought possible.
