Government grants for Queensland businesses

Special Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants - Central, Southern and Western Queensland Rainfall and Flooding

The Minister for Fire and Emergency Services has implemented Special Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants for small businesses in Central, Southern and Western Queensland that are impacted by the rainfall and flooding on 10 November – 3 December 2021.

With the maximum grant amount of up to $25,000, this program aims to help affected small businesses within the defined disaster areas to hire or purchase equipment and materials, clean up, remove debris, replace fencing and other costs associated with the recovery process.

To be an eligible applicant for the assistance, affected businesses must be located in the Goondiwindi Regional Council.

Closing date for applications will be on 30 Sep 2022.

Extraordinary Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants - Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth

A disaster assistance managed by The Minister for Fire and Emergency Services is open for applications for small businesses affected by Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth on 2-10 January 2022.

Affected small businesses can receive a maximum grant amount of $50,000 to hire or purchase equipment and materials, clean up, remove debris, replace or repair damaged infrastructure and stock and other costs associated with the recovery process.

Available funding for eligible businesses includes a single up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000.

Businesses located in one of the defined disaster areas are aligible for assistance:

  • Bundaberg Regional Council
  • Fraser Coast Regional Council
  • Gympie Regional Council
  • North Burnett Regional Council
  • South Burnett Regional Council

Closing date for applications will be on 28 Oct 2022.

Extraordinary Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants - South East Queensland Rainfall and Flooding

Small businesses in the South East Queensland affected by rainfall and flooding on 22 February - 5 April 2022, can apply to the disaster assistance managed by the Minister for Fire and Emergency Services.

This grant program aims to help eligible affected small businesses with a maximum grant amount of up to $50,000, for the purpose of hiring or purchasing equipment and materials, cleaning up, removing debris, replacing or repairing damaged infrastructure and stock and other costs associated with the recovery process.

Closing date for applications will be on 05 Dec 2022.

Government grants for Victorian businesses

2020 Bushfire Emergency Response Grant to Assist Indigenous corporations

Any indigenous corportation in Victoria whose property has been directly impacted by the recent bushfires in East Gippsland and Wellington Shires can receive an emergency response grant from The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC).

This initiative has a maximum grant amount of $20,000 and is still open for applications.

Government grants for NSW businesses

Small Business Northern Flood Grant Program NSW

Small businesses or not-for-profit organisations in northern New South Wales that were affected by storms and floods in February and March 2022 are eligible for a one-off $10,000 small business northern flood grant.

Funding is available for organisations operating in one of the following Northern Rivers local government areas listed below (LGAs)

  • Balina
  • Byron
  • Clarence Valley
  • Lismore
  • Kyogle
  • Richmond Valley
  • Tweed Shire
